I have yet to try Yodlee, but have used Mint in the past. I had the exact same experience with their "smart leadgen". They seemed to not really know what type of card I was using, offering me a worse offer.

My favorite so far was mVelopes, but their server problems during the summer resulted in my canceling my subscription.

Great post!

I actually find Yodlee has the best connectivity. They're the ones that power the backend for Mint, etc. I think I've been using it since 2004 consistently. They're analytics have improved but are not perfect.

Mint thinks that have "smart leadgen" but in fact there are so many details associated with credit card offers that they never get it right. For example, they think you have a no-rewards card (when you actually get cash-back, etc.) and they offer you a cash-back card that has less attractive terms than the one you already have.

However, Mint's transaction categorization is very helpful.

I'm glad to know you're alive and blogging. In terms of personal financial management on a Mac, the one I use is iBank from IGG Software. It's very visual and I like that. It includes as-you-type search capabilities across all my transactions, which I love. And the budget monitor is useful, if not perfect. Check it out here: http://www.iggsoftware.com/ibank/

I am real glad this post could be of use. Yeah, I have the love-hate relationship going with mVelopes, but I truly am hoping they work through their kinks. Interesting to know that you aren't completely happy with Mint as I have many times considered switching to their offering.
