I still don't have Q2 data as that will be released at month's end, but I thought I would include this blurb in case of interest to any of you readers.

" There are only 16 VC-backed companies left in IPO registration. This includes LogMeIn, which is road-showing and expects to price within the next few weeks. I know P&L is king -- and LogMeIn's is great -- but I also wonder if a successful LogMeIn IPO could have broader ramifications.

After all, it's a techie type of tech deal, rather than a consumer type of tech deal (i.e., OpenTable). A majority of venture deals in the IT sector belong to the former class, but investors have been beaten down by talk that the public markets don't love them anymore. Perhaps LogMeIn could serve as an emboldening flirtation."

Re: The Zen of the Zero Inbox

Gabe,
Ah, this is a great tip. Tim, explains it nice on his ReSaDoTh post as "If someone needs a two-line answer to a question, send that e-mail, archive the question, and be done with it. If an e-mail requires more talk than that, file it under “Say” for the moment, because you should put a higher priority on . . ."
Hope that helps. If not, feel free to drop me a line.
Cheers.
Rachel

Re: The Zen of the Zero Inbox

Wow, you keep yours between 5 - 10 regularly?! I've been organizing my emails by mandate / company and I try flagging the action items but there have definitely been emails that fall through the cracks.

I'm going to try your "do, read, say, think" suggestion. Just curious, what type of emails do you put under "say"?

Re: The Zen of the Zero Inbox

Nice post. I manage to keep mine consistently below about 5-10 emails so not too shabby. It rarely ever makes to zero however.

I'm definitely a big believer in having access to email by mobile also - I found by having it near to me whenever I wanted to check, or had a moment to spare, actually took some of the stress out of checking my inbox (I'm sure we all know the moment of holding your breath before your inbox opens up....).
Like you, I swear by filters. For some emails (mailing list, etc.), I treat them like an RSS feed - read them if I have time, or else just delete!

Re: The Zen of the Zero Inbox

MJ,
Ha ha... if I get bored I will swing through Zions Park to organize your email and pics. =)

Keep me posted with your zero inbox progress.
Rach

Re: The Zen of the Zero Inbox

Sterling,
Thanks for stopping by the blog and for commenting. You should be able to find the converted file in the song list. If you don't see it there for some reason, you can look in the iTune file folder located on your hard drive. Hope that helps.
Best.
Rachel

Re: Personal Financial Management Options

Scott,
Thanks for the comment.

I have yet to try Yodlee, but have used Mint in the past. I had the exact same experience with their "smart leadgen". They seemed to not really know what type of card I was using, offering me a worse offer.

My favorite so far was mVelopes, but their server problems during the summer resulted in my canceling my subscription.
Thanks for the feedback.
Rachel

Re: Converting mp4 to mp3

tried this but i cant find the converted file

Re: Personal Financial Management Options

Great post!

I actually find Yodlee has the best connectivity. They're the ones that power the backend for Mint, etc. I think I've been using it since 2004 consistently. They're analytics have improved but are not perfect.

Mint thinks that have "smart leadgen" but in fact there are so many details associated with credit card offers that they never get it right. For example, they think you have a no-rewards card (when you actually get cash-back, etc.) and they offer you a cash-back card that has less attractive terms than the one you already have.

However, Mint's transaction categorization is very helpful.

Re: Links of Interest 03/18/09

You're very kind, Rachel -- glad you liked my posts!

Re: Welcome Back

Hey Fraser,
Great to hear from you and thanks for stopping by the blog.
I agree.. now IS the time to travel.
